Bubble Mixture

If, like me, you love making bubbles - it can get expensive to buy bubble mixture from toy shops.  Also, there is always the question of what is actually in it!

Try making your own bubble mixture.
The detergent in it means it is not exactly gentle on sensitive skin (wear long sleeves while blowing bubbles and wash hands afterwards) but at least you will know what went into it.

Mix together:

1 1/2 cups water ('soft' water is best - if water in your area is 'hard' consider using bottled water)
1/2 to 1 cup dishwashing detergent (dishwash liquid -your favourite type)
2 Tablespoons glycerol (makes the bubbles last longer)

You may need to experiment with different ratios of water and detergent to get the best mix for your type of dishwash liquid.
The mixture improves on standing so make it a day or two before you want to use it.

Enjoy!
