Solgar Homocysteine Modulators helps to lower the level of homocysteine, a harmful amino acid, in our blood. Usually our bodies will convert homocysteine to a harmless substance, but things such as smoking, age and a lack of B vitamins can reduce our ability to keep homocysteine at normal levels.
 
If homocysteine levels get too high there may be an increased risk of conditions such as heart disease and thromboembolism.
 
However, researchers have found that the body maintains normal homocysteine levels when there are sufficient B vitamins, such as folic acid and vitamin B12, in the daily diet, as these vitamins are used in the biochemical pathways that break down homocysteine.
