Solgar® Taurine 500 mg Vegetable Capsules contain Taurine, a sulphur-containing compound and one of the most abundant amino acids present in the human body.

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and are needed in several internal functions of the body. They are classified as “essential” or “non-essential”, with essential amino acids meaning they cannot be manufactured by the body and must be supplied in the diet to maintain good all-round health. Amino acids can be further used by the body to create hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters, antibodies and nutrient carriers. A suboptimal intake of the essential amino acids increases the body’s need for the non-essential amino acids either through diet or supplementation. Foods that increase amino acid intake are meat, beans, cheese and eggs.

Taurine is an essential amino acid as it cannot be made by the body. It is involved in various processes in the body.

Solgar Taurine provides 500 mg per vegetable capsule, providing free form of this sulfur containing amino acid. A taurine rich diet can protect the body and support longevity. Although linked with energy production it has many roles in the body. Taurine supports cardiovascular function, and a healthy cardiovascular system. It helps protects vision, hearing, supports the action of insulin and has antioxidant properties. It is vital for the proper function of the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sodium. Aging and restrictive diets can result in inadequate levels of Taurine.

RECOMMENDED DOSE: One (1) vegetable capsule daily, preferably at meal times or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.

Taurine (Free Form) 500mg

Vegetable Capsule Shell: hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, Bulking Agent: microcrystalline cellulose, Anti-caking Agent: vegetable stearic acid.
